Lunch!
I went for lunch with my family at some ulu place beside Plaza Singapura. It's the first time my Dad brought us out for lunch on a working day!
It's because he booked a table at some famous restaurant to eat hairy crabs. The hairy crab season was ending soon and there wouldn't be any left by next week.
The meal costs a whooping $88+++. For the 4 of us, it would cost more than $400!
The first course was shark's fin soup. Nice! Haha.
Next was abalone. You maight not believe it, but I don't like abalone! The only type I would eat is the fake one in cup noodles. Haha. Guess I'm weird. So, my lucky brother got to eat 2.
After that was the crab. The crab was quite small. We had one each and the waitress cut it for us. Then because I wasn't sure how to eat the crab, she demostrated how to peel off some shell for me. Haha. It was nice, but after the meal, my fingers smelled a lot like crab. Eeew...
The 4th course was some fried thing with scallop and mango inside. I didn't think that scallop and mango would go together but it was a nice combination! That was my favourite dish!
Then it was a bowl of fried rice. Nothing special about it. It was just average rice.
For dessert, it was almond "soup" with some jelly in it. I forgot what it's called though. It's warm and really yummy!
Overall, I think the meal was good and the service was excellent! The waiter and waitresses were very friendly and even showed me how to peel my crab. Haha.
But for me, I don't think I would ever spend $100 on food. I'll probably spend it on clothes or accessories. Haha.
It's great that my Dad was willing to spend so much money for this meal. Hopefully we can have lunch more often!
