World Cyber Games
I went to the World Cyber Games with my family today.
It was quite fun because the competition games were quite interesting. I liked watching the competition on the big screen.
Lots of guys there though. And all of the gamers I saw were guys. What happenend to the girls man? Haha. Maybe guys are just better at these stuff. And we girls are better at others.
Anyway, I also went to the Samsung booth and saw the new phones. My plan is ending in March and I can change my phone on December 28, which is 21 months into the plan.
I wanted to get a Nokia phone because my current Samsung one isn't very user friendly. But then again, the appearance of the phone is my greatest consideration. I just want to get a nice one. Even if it's not that user friendly, I can bear with it. Haha.
The new Panasonic one seems nice. Don't ask me to tell you what is the model, I really can't remember those stuff.
For the competition, I watched the "Dead or Alive" finals. Singapore vs Japan. In the end, Singapore lost. Ahh... So sad!
Next, I also watched the counter strike semi-finals. Canada vs Australia. It was really exciting but we left halfway because my parents were a little bored. Besides, the competition started at 4.40pm when it was supposed to start at 4pm! We waited so long until we had no mood liao...
After dinner, we went to walk walk at the Esplanade. Actually my Dad wanted to bring us to watch Harry Potter but I told him that I already watched it so we went to the Esplanade instead.
I just love going to the Esplanade. And now they have some new colourful lights at the waterfront. Nice!
When we went home, I watched some show by Fiona Xie and Ben on Channel U about the report on WCG. Did I mention I got a glimpse of them walking into Starbucks? Haha. They weren't smiling or anything. Just looked really glum. So different from what they look like on television.
But then again, I read a magazine about this thing. That is, people complain that artistes don't look as friendly in real life compared to what they look like on television. It's like they're proud and don't want to smile back at you.
But the artistes protest that it's because they don't have any reason to smile. Just consider a normal person walking on the street, would he or she smile at anyone he or she sees? Of course not! And for artistes, when so many people recognise them, do they have to smile at everyone? It's the same what. They have the right to go shopping too, you know...
Anyway, really hope that Singapore can win something at next WCG. Go Singapore!
