The last paper!
Chemistry. I've never been good at it.
I studied till late last night. Then I saw a lizard crawl near the ceiling in my room and it hid above the air-con.
I'm terribly afraid of lizards. They just creep me out! So I was so afraid that I didn't want to sleep in my own room. I told my parents and they tried to chase it away by throwing newspapers near the air-con. But it didn't move at all.
And the thing is, it was lying on top of the air-con so we couldn't see it at all. We tried standing on chairs to see where it was, but that just wasn't tall enough. Of course, getting the ladder from the store room would be too much of a hassle.
Despite my parents' efforts to try to chase it away, we didn't see any lizard run away.
And although they tried to convince me that lizards weren't all that frightening, I still insisted on not sleeping in my room that night.
In the end, they allowed me to sleep on a mattress on the floor in their room. After all, I had test the next day. I'm sure they don't want me sleeping on the sofa.
I continued studying in my room, staring at the air-con the whole time.
I studied till about 2am.
Then it occurred to me that maybe it was just my imagination. Maybe there wasn't any lizard after all.
I've been paranoid about lizards these few days, mainly because I'm afraid of them, and also because I've seen a lizard in the toilet for the past 2 days. Different lizard of course. I don't think any lizard would be so stupid as to stay there for 2 days. If it did, I'll probably not use the toilet for 2 days too... Luckily there's another one in my parents' room.
Anyway, it was nice sleeping with my parents. My brother and I don't get to do that any more now that we're older.
The next morning (this morning), I was still cramming some last minute information into my brain all the way to school.
For assembly today, something very interesting happened...
Since the seniors did well for the A levels, we get to celebrate! So usually, we'll get a full day off. The principal says it's because it's for us to go out to "advertise" that VJC did well for A's.
But, we were supposed to have common test today.
Cancelling the test is a definite no. So the year 2s were given the choice whether to have the full day off today or tomorrow. The year 1s and IP confirmed their full day off today since they didn't have any test.
At first, we thought that today would be full day so some people didn't study. It was some incorrect information from Mr Tan (soccer teacher). He told the team to come back for training yesterday evening because there he said today's test would be postponed. And so, the information spreaded.
Luckily, I didn't hear about it. So I finished studying.
In the end, some people cheered for full day today, while some wanted it tomorrow.
In the end, we still had tests as per normal today.
The thing is, the atmosphere was so hyped up in the hall that it was such a "celebration" mood. How could we go for test when all the others were going out? It just seems unfair.
Anyway, I rooted for full day today. Cos I thought that I wasn't prepared enough to take the test today. But int the end, I was quite grateful that it was over and done with today. At least we could play without having to study again for the test another day. haha...
The test was ok actually. I studied quite throughly so I knew to answer quite a lot of questions. Getting them right is another question though. But I think I did better than the previous Chemistry papers because I really didn't know what many questions were asking for previously.
But, for the essay section, I completely left out 1 question! It was on the last page and I didn't flip the paper to see it. In the end, I had about 10 minutes extra and went back to the previous question that I didn't know how to solve. In the end, I think I got the right answer.
But by the time I found out that I had left out the last page, there was only 1 minute left and I could only manage to scribble down 1 sentence to briefly answer the question.
1 sentence for a 10 mark question. Yea... I'm sure I'll do well... not!
Anyway, the important thing is that common tests are over! And the next thing to do it to decide where to go to play!
Yesterday we decided that we would go ice skating after the test.
But today, some of the guys didn't want to go because it was too far (we were going from Marine Parade to Jurong East after all!). In the end, we managed to convince them to go along.
We went to KFC at Parkway for lunch, then took bus 197 to Jurong East. The bus ride took about 1 hour and 20 minutes! It was so long, but we had fun talking along the way...
When we finally reached, it was already 3.30pm.
Then, to our horror, the ice skating rink was closed!!!
There was an ice hockey competition and we couldn't ice skate.
I could tell that most of us were disappointed. After all, we travelled so far to go there.
Actually, I didn't mind not skating. Didn't feel like it after the long bus ride anyway. Save money too! haha...
We went to watch the competition and it was quite interesting actually.
After a while, we decided to play pool. It was a lot of fun, although I still suck at it.
We played for an hour plus, then went back to the ice skating rink to watch the match.
By that time, it was already a new match. Singapore vs Malaysia.
When we went in, the score was Singapore-Malaysia : 1-2.
Jasmine shouted "Go Singapore!" that everyone around us turned to look at her. The players couldn't hear though. We were separated by a transparent layer.
Maybe her cheering worked cos soon after we arrived, Singapore scored 3 goals!
The match was really a lot of fun!
We were standing behind the Malaysian goal (the side Singapore will score).
And during the break, the Malaysian goalkeeper took off his helmet. I was so surprised. He was actually an Angmoh! So cute some more! Whahaha...
The puck hit the protective layer quite a few times and once, it flew straight towards me. Lucky for the protective layer, if not I would have ended up in hospital.
When we left, the score was Singapore 7, Malaysia 4. Hope Singapore won!
I took the train back with Jasmine. And it was great talking to her. I don't know why, but I just connect with her. It was a lot of fun!
At the end of the day, I was really tired. It was a long trip back to Tampines too! If I had a seat, I would have definitely fallen asleep!
