Swimming outing
Training this morning, 9am at Geylang East.
I think training was supposed to end earlier but Mr Goh came and made us swim a lot harder. He made us do 10 x 100m, with plunging! And some sprinting set too. It was so tiring. But somehow, I felt a sense of achievement after the training.
I'm seriously flattered whenever the new girls tell me that I swim fast. An4 shuang3! Whahaha... But I know that it's really because I swam 1 year more than them. I'm really not that good after all. Still, it feels good to be praised. I always reply that they'll be as good, if not better than me by the same time next year.
And because we swam from 9 to 12 noon, we all ended up almost sun burnt. Plus, I ran out of sun block today. Only applied some on my face and arms.
I'm the type that doesn't really get sun burnt. I just become tan super quickly. Good thing is that my skin doesn't peel. Bad is because I take a really long time to become fair again, unlike some people who become fair after their skin peel. Haizz...
In the end, my skin changed from THIS COLOUR, to THIS COLOUR. Ok, bad example. There are so limited font colours. But you get the idea... I was so red my Dad said I look like a lobster. My skin was so tanned that the tan lines from my swim suit were so distinct. It's going to take me a long, long time to change back.
After training, we went for lunch at Plaza Singapura.
We wanted to go to Cafe Cartel but it was packed so we went to Pizza Hut instead. I was hoping that we could go to Cafe Cartel. I've never been there before when a lot of my friends have already been there.
There were 12 of us altogether. More girls than guys! I think this is the first time. Haha...
There was Ding Yong, Fabian, Kai Xiang, Joel Poon, Eugene, me, Janice, Ngang Ju, Jia Yi, Vivian, Shu Qi and Zhang Chen.
I brought camera to take photos. But they like all so shy, so we only took a few.
I had a super supreme personal pan pizza. And I love the vegetable soup! It was great! haha...
Somehow, I felt we weren't that lively and talkative. But it was still great bonding. :)
After lunch, the guys and girls split. The guys went to the arcade, the girls went to walk walk.
In the end, we decided to eat ice cream. We're such gluttons! haha... 7 of us shared 2 large waffles with ice cream. The ice cream flvaours were low fat blueberry cheesecake (note: low fat! haha...) and cookies & cream. It was great! And fun too!
It was only after we completely finished the ice cream and waffle that I remembered we wanted to take photo of the waffle. Ahh!!! Chui xin gan... !!!
When we were on our way to the MRT station, we passed by a neoprint shop and ended up taking neoprint. All 7 of us squeezed inside the booth. Luckily it was quite big.
It was really a lot, a lot of fun! Too bad Cheryl didn't come. I heard there's another new girl too, but I haven't seen her before.
The first few poses were just standard smiles. Then it began to get crazier. For one pose, we all rolled our tongues (some couldn't do it. haha...), for another, we did the breaststroke hand action (oh... I love that picture!! So cute!).
It was really so much fun and I'm so glad we did it.
After that, we took the train together.
I went to City Hall to meet Li Yue cos we were going to buy Sheryl's birthday present.
It was already 4pm when I got there. We were supposed to meet at 3.30. Oops...
I was wearing the house tee and bermudas. It felt ok when I was with the swim team. But Li Yue wore a nice shirt and jeans and as we walked around Citilink, I felt I was dressed too casually.
We looked for a bag for Sheryl. It's a handbag, quite a small one. It's what she was planning to buy previously (she told me). Then the other day, I asked her (very obviously that we were going to buy it for her) what size she wanted. So we already had a image of the type of bag we were looking for. Just couldn't find the bag with all the right elements together.
First, we went to 2 shops at Citilink. There were loads of nice bags but none that fit our criteria. Then we went to Marina Square. It was the first time I went there after everything is renovated. There are so many shops there. Shopping heaven!! Haha...
I think Marina Square is my favourite place to go shopping. So many shops, there's bowling alley, pool, cinema, K box etc. The best place you can go with your friends if you don't have any plans yet. They have everything there!
After searching high and low and going into almost every shop with bags, we finally found it.
When we saw it, we knew it was THE one! It's just weird that Li Yue and I have the same idea on what to get for Sheryl. Just hope it's what Sheryl wants too!
It's a Billabong bag. The "background" is white, but there's a lot of design on it. It's just the one that we wanted!
Me, Li Yue, Jasmine, Joanne and Amelia were sharing. So it was $6 each.
After that, we walked around a little more and saw some earrings. Li Yue said I look good with pearl earrings (hmm... but I don't really think so). Might try it after I can change my earrings. haha... I'm so excited!
Then we went to Giant because Li Yue wanted to buy groceries. It's hard living in the hostel ( I think) because you have to buy your own stuff. Unlike me, cos I have my Mum to do all that stuff.
At about, 7pm, Li Yue went back and I joined my parents who were coincidentally at the food fare at Suntec for dinner.
I seldom enjoy food fares because there's not much that I like to eat. But this time, a lot of food was quite cheap (according to me) and maybe because it was a friday, so there weren't that many people.
There was a small stall selling green tea. $1 for a 500ml bottle, buy one get one free. So chaep! At first we bought 2. But it was actually quite nice so we bought another 4! The only bad thing was that I was the one carrying it all the way home. heavy...
There was also ice cream. My favourite part. They were selling various types at only 95 cents each! It was so nice! We bought quite a few home and they even gave us dry ice so it would be kept cold.
All the way back in the car, I was playing with the dry ice. They were like small pellets and it was so amazing to see the "smoke" come out!
When I went back, I quickly poured all the ice into a bowl, place it in the middle of the table, and poured hot water over. All the "smoke" just came gushing out and flowing all over the table. It was so so pretty!!!
I've never had the chance to play with dry ice so I was really fascinated. I love dry ice! I'll make sure that there's loads and loads of it at my wedding. I wanna walk on the clouds. Whahaha...
Today was a really fun day! Going out with the swim team, Li Yue and my parents... 3 great outings in one day! I'm so happy!
