Go VJ Go VJ GO!

Soccer match: VJ against MI (millenium institute -hope I spelled it correctly)

We were stuck in Econs S when the match started. I think all of us were itching to go watch the match. When we were finally released, it was already the second half. Score was still 0-0.

Jasmine said VJ played quite badly for the first half. Luckily we didn't let in any goals.

This was supposed to be our third match, but the previous 2 were postponed to the end if the season because of the rain. Everyone hoped we would be able to play our first match today.

VJ soccer was the national champion of 2004. I think we were also champions before that. But last year, we lost to MJ and came in second. We were all so devastated because we really expected to win. We played all the way to the end, even more than the 5 penalty kicks. It all went down to the 7th kick. And we lost! Just by one ball!!!

Heard that MJ lost their first match this year. But ACJC seems to be pretty strong.

Hopefully this year we can win. But we don't want to pressure the soccer guys too much. No pressure guys... you all just need to get first. No pressure at all...

Anyway, back to today's match. We scored the first goal quite soon after I arrived and we were all so happy. I was so excited that I almost cried! You know, that feeling of sitting in the crowd, and all of us wanting to win so bad. We were just like a big family man!

We cheered a lot throughout the game, wanting to keep our lead.

Then, we scored another goal. We were all estatic! It was almost a comfirmed win! But of course, still had to be careful.

After that, MI had a penalty kick and they scored! There was this feeling of "we are still leading so it doesn't matter, but we better be careful!". We were just hanging on to our lead.

Finally, the match ended and VJ won, 2-1.

During the match, one of the red shirts (student councillors in charge of cheering) said we will trash MI and it was said rather rudely. The thing is, the MI supporters were sitting just beside us! I bet they heard that.

It must be really hard for the MI supporters to go to another school to cheer for their team because VJ had so many more people cheering. And obviously, we drowned MI's cheers. I had some sort of feeling that VJ people we not very friendly to the MI people.

It's like we really, really hate them. A game is a game after all. Maybe we just got too carried away.

Hopefully VJ can continue winning! All of us really want to be the national soccer champion. I'm looking forward to the finals at the national stadium. It'll be so exciting!

GO VJ GO VJ GO!
