MGS swimming carnival
It's the competition day.
It started with heavy rain, which died down after a while.
We warmed up at about 9.15.
At 9.40am, we had to report.
And soon after, was the event. Everything just happened so, so fast!
I was the second swimmer in the relay and it was not long before I realised Janice (the first swimmer) was swimming towards me. It would be my turn very soon.
When I jumped in, I felt that the plunge was good. I kept swimming and swimming, and surprisingly, didn't feel that tired till two-thirds of the way there. (Guess the bananas I ate for breakfast helped) Soon, fatigue began to kick in. I felt my arms aching, but just used every ounce of strength to get to the other side.
When my turn was over, the whole experience just felt surreal. Like we've been training so hard, just for that 45 seconds of swimming. I had a really weird feeling...
When I came out of the pool, I saw that the time for our first 2 swimmers (Janice and me) was about 1:36min. Not bad, considering I took quite some time to get out of the pool.
Ngang Ju was the third swimmer, and Shu Qi, the forth.
All in all, our timing was 2:50min. We came in 6th.
Sad thing was, there are only 6 teams. Still it was our best timing, since we usually take 3 minutes.
If I didn't remember wrongly...
First: CJC 2:16min
Second: SAJC 2:17min
Third: TJC 2:18min
Vivien took a video of us swimming using my phone and there was this one part where I stood on the platform, ready to plunge, and she was recording behind me. So in the end, she took a short video of my butt. Not long, just 2 to 3 seconds, but it was embarrassing enough because the other girls wanted to see the video...
After the competition, we went to McDonald's for lunch, although we had the breakfast meal. I had hotcakes. I totaly love it! Haha...
It's actually VJ's sports day but we decided not to go back to school. Actually I think sports day is fun and I wouldn't mind going back. But since I was going to celebrate Hanjie's birthday later, I couldn't go. Anyway, I didn't mind going out with the girls either. Haha...
We went to Orchard to walk walk. Since we had nothing to do, we watched a movie - invisible man. It's not bad, a movie about some robbery, hostages and stuff. But not actually what I enjoy. Still, not bad.
After the movie at 3pm, we went back.
I went to City Hall to buy Hanjie's present - a watch.
Then went to Bedok Long John to meet Si Hui, Melissa, Cindy, Kia Boon and of course, Hanjie.
I love Long John! My favourite fast food! :)
It was nice catching up with them. Haven't seen them for quite long already.
We also sang happy birthday to Hanjie and had cake there. So fun!
After that, I went home while the others (except Melissa) went back to TJ for mardi gras.
I'm quite tired now. I think I'll go sleep at 10.
Looking forward to going to kbox with the horti people tomorrow! :)
