I love coffee! Especially when it's ice cold and with milk!

I'm free!

All the tests are over!

Time flew past so, so quickly. Even my holidays were gone in a flash. Now, even the tests are gone too. Anyway, it means that I'm free for now. No more mindless mugging.

After physics today, I went to Parkway with Jasmine to eat dinner. We ate at pastamania and had ice cream from New Zealand ice cream. I had banana ice cream. Super nice! :)

Then we walked around for quite a while more.

Haven't gone shopping for quite long already.

So fun! :)

Also haven't swam in a few days now, I'm excited to go swimming at CSC tomorrow!

I love this song!

歌曲: Beautiful Love

歌手: 蔡健雅

Edit: I heard the rest of the album. Tanya is just so terrifically talented. I love her! And this song also...

歌曲: 可以爱你真好

Tests...

I just had the worst maths paper ever!

Everyone said it was hard so it's not just me. I studied for it, but maybe because I didn't practice the questions. Haiz...

Anyway, I'm glad yesterday's econs paper went well. People said it was quite difficult, so I think I did not bad, especially for the MCQ. Not so sure about the case study and essay though. Cos I never study macro properly.

GP yesterday was ok too. Passable, but definitely not good enough for a B.

I think my grades for this common test are going to be terrible.

Better buck up for Chemistry tomorrow! :)

3. Go bungee jumping?
Yes!

4. Hand feed a white pointer shark?
Is it dangerous? Haha... If it's gross, then no way. If not I can consider.

5. Ask a random person on the street if you could have a piggyback ride?
If my friends dare me to, maybe... But I'm expecting that person to say no. After all, the dare is only to ask, no need to really piggyback what... Haha... :)

Have to look at the circumstances. If I ever cheat, I'll feel bad about it anyway. But wait till I manage to find 1 boyfriend first then see how. Haha...

Always. I'll keep saying goodnight until they say goodnight back to me. Haha...

I regret not putting on my braces much earlier in sec 2. And I also regret not training harder for swimming, although I don't know how I could have improved on that.

5. Scream when your favourite song comes on at a party?
No.

Have you:

1. Told someone you loved them?
Yup, my girlfriends. Haven't told my family that since I was super young. It feels weird to tell them that out of the blue now...

2. Done donuts (in a car)?
What???

3. Been kissed?
Can't believe Li Yue kissed me (on the cheek!). My parents kissed me when I was lots younger. My Dad always boasts that he's the first man to kiss me. He says that when I was born, he was the first one to kiss me, and on the lips! Hmmm...
As for that kind of kiss, no.

4. Danced all night?
I haven't even gone clubbing before. But I wanna try. Haha...

Family gathering

Went to my Aunt's house today. No special reason for this gathering, but it was nice seeing one another.

It was so nice to take a break from all that studying. It's as if I had no life the past week. Everyday study, study, study. If it was possible to get a brain cramp, I think I would have had hundreds of those.

There was lots of food today. Pizza, bee hoon, curry, duck, durian, desert, etc. There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all. I only ate a little and I got very full. If not I would have wanted to eat even more. Haha... :)

Also talked a lot with my cousins about university courses. Quite useful, although it got a bit boring after a while...

At the end of the day, we played asshole dai di. Haha... This time my cards were super good! I never got to be lower than the commoner. Haha!!

Went home at 9 plus, and studied more at home... Sianz...

But it was a really fun day. So happy! :D

Competition

Training this morning at CSC again.

I know my timing has improved. My 50m sprint is now 49.4s. It's still not as good as my personal best during nationals last year (48.62s), but I'm quite sure I'll be able to get another personal best timing for this nationals with the andrenaline rush and all that during the actual race.

On Wednesday, my timing was 54s. Cheryl got 53s. And I'm kinda ashamed that she did better than me. I'm the senior after all. But I'm not surprised since I skipped training for so long and Cheryl trains so hard. She'll definitely do better than me next year.

But since I'm supposed to better than her this time, I really felt that I just had to swim faster than her, even during training. Maybe that accounts for my 49.4s timing today.

I know I'm really quite competitive and being faster than her this competition means a lot to me. But it's friendly competition. I don't hate her at all... really!

I still remember last year, I was trying to beat April. After all, it'll be great if I can win her, after she trained 1 year more than me. I guess I was like in Cheryl's position then. I was slower than her by exactly 0.5s. Her timing was 48.16s. I still remember. I guess that was just as well. I proved myself and I'm glad.

I don't know how I'll do this nationals, the same for Cheryl.

I hope that both of us will do well!

May the best girl win! :)

Listen to it here! :)

Why didn't they tell me?!

I woke up this morning, ready to go for training and just before I stepped into my Dad's car, I looked at the sms that my phone just alerted me about. Apparently, it was from Cheryl and this is what it said:

"tmr both dy and fabian cant make it.. so u still want to go tmr and train together?"

The message was sent late last night, and I already went to bed. So now I didn't know if training was cancelled or not.

I called Cheryl and from her voice, I could tell that I woke her up. She said trainig was cancelled and that the girls were still going to train on their own.

So I decided to go training and hopped into my Dad's car. When we came out of the carpark, the sky looked like it was going to rain very, very heavily. So, he persuaded me not to go, and dropped me somewhere near our house so I could go home.

The thing I'm mad about is that there will usually be some sort of relay system or something to tell everyone that training has been cancelled. But no one told me anything! Maybe because I haven't been going for training for the last 2 weeks because of the attachment that they forgot about me.

I can tell that Fabian and Ding Yong are not happy about me skipping so many trainings. I think my attendance is only half. Which is very bad, considering that it's a sports cca after all. But I have no choice cos horti is my first priority and the friday meetings clash with training. Thursdays' trainings I can't attend too because of econs S.

Then now, I had to skip 2 weeks of training because of the attachment. They're probably not happy with my attendance and I can totally understand that. Because that's the way I feel too when Ryan skips horti meetings ever so often.

But I'll just like to say that I don't regret missing all those trainings. If I had to choose again, I would still go for horti meetings and the attachment, even though that means I'll have to skip training. But if I were to choose all over again, right from the very beginning, the only difference I would have made might have been to quit swimming at the end of last year when Li Ling quitted too.

Then, I wouldn't have to bother so much about trainings and could even go for Biz on wednesdays. Sure will miss the swimming people and the juniors that I wouldn't have had the chance to meet though. Why I stayed on was because I really like swimming and also because I was the only girl left. I was pretty sure that if I hadn't stayed on, the girls' team wouldn't have that many members as it has now.

I'm not saying that I'm very important in swimming, but give me some credit man. The girls learnt much from me, the only girl senior who taught them about stuff they weren't sure of.

Anyway, I'm not going to bother about this incident. I'll just go for training this week, which is probably the last few trainings before nationals. Then after the competition which is like 2 or 3 weeks later, we'll be stepping down and I can finally concentrate on my studies full time.

Meanwhile, I'm at home, watching it rain cats and dogs outside. So lucky that my Dad convinced me to come home to study instead.

Appraisal

Went for gym training in the morning. The first time I'm going for training in 2 weeks. I'm afraid that my stamina is badly affected after not training for so long.

Fabian was in a bad mood today. Like something went wrong, and Ding Yong wasn't around too. Seems like the teacher forgot about us and we couldn't use the gym or something.

So in the end, we did a little bit of circuit training and just some sit-ups, burpees, pull ups and dips. Quite a slack training today.

I went to shower later and went to Parkway to eat KFC for lunch.

Then I went to Conrad to get my lobby lounge appraisal. Me and Aishu were supposed to meet Lilian cos I wanted to talk to her regarding her job. I'm interested in hotel management and I just wanted to know more about the industry and what I should study.

In the end, Aishu was late and she left very soon so she only had a drink with us and didn't get to meet Lilian.

Instead, Feng Sheng cam along to get the Conrad chop for the appraisal. Since Aishu was late, we went to walk walk and see his friends from Oscar's. When Aishu finally came, Lilian said she'll only be free at 3pm so we had to wait for 1 hour. We went to eat roti prata, but only Feng Sheng ate. Then, Aishu left.

The 2 of us went to meet Lilian. And although she didn't know Feng Sheng, she was very nice and friendly. She told us about lots of stuff. It's really useful cos I used to think that if I got a business or hotel management degree, I would be able to do the same jobs. Turns out that's not the case. She was a little long winded though, told us loads of examples. But it was very useful nonetheless. We spent one whole hour talking to her. I think she's so nice to talk to us for so long!

One thing though, she said that I didn't smile enough. I was quite surprised cos I thought I smiled quite a lot. Haha... I don't know. Maybe I felt stressed talking to the guests that I didn't realise I wasn't smiling. I tend to do that. Haha... It was like a more detailed form of my appraisal. But I was glad that I did quite well overall. Though I was a teeny weeny disappointed that her appraisal of me wasn't that good.

We finished talking at about 4.15pm and I was supposed to have my dental appointment at 4.30pm. I was definitely going to be late. I called NDC and they said Dr Woo has 3 other patients after me, so she wouldn't be able to see me if I was late. Looks like I'll have to reschedule. Haiz... This is already the second time I'm postponing my dental appointment. Hope I don't have to keep postponing, if not I'll never get these braces off!

Visit to the zoo

My Dad woke me up really early today (at 11.30am. haha...:) ). He said "Go and change. We're going to the zoo in 30 minutes."

We had talked about going to the zoo this weekend cos my Dad managed to get 4 tickets at a discounted price using his Safra card. And since we haven't been there for a few years, we might as well go and take a look.

Actually I think it's quite weird to go to the zoo. How many people actually say they want to go to the zoo for no reason at all? I thought the place would not be that crowded. It's just a normal saturday after all.

When we got there, I was actually amazed to see the place crowded. Especially the KFC at the entrance since it was lunch time. Mostly families and very young kids, and quite a bit of tourists too. My whole family seemed a little out of place. Haha...

We entered at about 2.15pm and quickly went to see the white tigers cos their feeding time was at 2.20pm. Impressive! I think they look so beautiful and when the zookeeper threw out pieces of raw meat, they jumped, with their mouths wide open to catch it. They didn't fight for the food though. And I'm sure I wouldn't want to see that.

Next was the hippo feeding time. I don't know why, but I just felt like seeing the hippos on this trip. A little disappointed when I saw them though, cos they are really not that big, and we watched them behind a glass enclosure, not the type of open air ones...

We moved on after that. Saw lots of other animals. I was quite tired cos I didn't have enough sleep. Slept at 1am last night cos I was watching soccer, but still fell asleep in between.

After looking at loads more animals, we went to KFC at 4 plus to eat something. It was very refreshing... I didn't know that I was so tired and hungry until I sat down and ate.

The playground area still looks the same. Reminds me of the time in primary 5 when I came with Mr Chong and the others. 11 of us in total. It was very fun! Pity I can't remember much of it... I miss being a kid!

Anyway, the best part of the zoo is the fragile garden. It's a closure with butterflies and animals inside. The most interesting part was when we saw 2 lemurs playing, or fighting, on the trees. They were sorta wrestling each other and jumping from tree to tree. They were so close that it was possible for them to jump right into your arms. I was quite afraid of that. Luckily it didn't happen.

We saw the zebras too. They were so cute cos at the time we saw them, they were all crowding in a circle eating their food, so that all their butts faced outside. It was funny. Haha... I also took a photo with a giraffe statue. That photo made me look really short and fat. Why did they have to use such a tall and skinny statue. Grrr...

At the end of the trail, we went to the souvenir shop. The stuffed toys, t-shirts and everything there were all so cute! But they were super expensive, so we didn't buy anything. There was this particular lion and duck puppet that were so cute because when you closed their mouths, they would make a roaring or quack sound. So so cute!!!

I really loved the gift shop. I thought it was one of the most interesting places in the zoo.

We left at about 5 plus. The zoo was closing at 6pm. It was a really nice trip, except for the fact that I was quite tired. I slept on the way home.

My Dad went to buy dinner and parked the car, while I was still sleeping inside. My Mum said I was sleeping in a not aesthetically pleasing position and people who walked plast kept looking inside cos I was sleeping with my mouth open!

Ahh... So paiseh! She said she tried to close my mouth but it wouldn't close. So embarrassing! The lucky thing is that I'll probably never see those people again...

The very last day

It's the end of the 2 weeks of attachment at Conrad this June holidays.

I can definitely say it's been one of the best 2 weeks of my life!

I've learnt so, so much and made so many great friends. I don't regret coming for this attachment one bit, even though there was no pay and I had to sacrifice quite a lot of studying time...

This morning was the same as the last few days'. I helped Dewi set up the buffet and the tables for lunch. It was Lilian's off day, so Terry came in the morning. Today was the day I saw most of him. He came only in the afternoon the last few days so I hardly said anything to him.

I went for lunch at 10.30am. Ate with Feng Sheng. After eating rice, both of us went to make popiah. It came out quite ok, but a bit big. Then, I cut it into a few pieces, but it was still too big to eat in one mouthful. It was very funny trying to stuff such a big piece into the mouth and we kept laughing and laughing. Feng Sheng said that he almost suffocated cos it was completely filling his mouth. Haha!!! :D

We went to collect our appraisals from banquet after that. Dalland was the one who filled in the forms. He was still filling it in when we went to collect it. When I finally got my form, I was really surprised. I got excellent for everything - efficiency, initiative, interaction, punctuality, responsibility and overall. Under general remarks, he wrote "Plesantable lady. Aways show 'can do' attitude".

Haha... I was so happy! But the thing is, I didn't feel like I was that good, considering that I left super early on monday for my swimming competition and I was late on one day when my Dad's car tyre was punctured. Excellent for punctuality? Hmmm... And actually I did what everyone else did too. How come I got better evaluation? I also don't know.

But I glad, cos I really did put my all into this attachment and I'm happy that it was recognised. Just that maybe it was a little overrated. Ha...

Anyway, lunch at lobby lounge today was super busy. There were only me, Dewi, Terry and Raju.

It was rush, rush, rush. Not enough people to do eveything and also so many things to do.

I was mostly in the pantry today, washing plates, cups and teaspoons. The teaspoons were used so quickly that once I finished washing one batch, I had to put the next bunch of them into the dishwasher.

And there were quite a lot of orders for coffee so the others would come to the pantry and say "make me 2 coffee" or something like that. I was the only one there, so I had to wash the stuff, and put down everything to make coffee (or cuppaccino or latte) whenever there was an order, and clear arrange the dirty cutlery that the others cleared from outside.

I seriously can't remember how many times I used the dishwasher (full load everytime). There were so many things to be washed!

But it was fun though. Cos I prefer busy days than times when there's completely nothing to do. The situation was crazily busy, but also very fun. Haha... :)

Ah Ming and Chef Garnesh also came up to lobby lounge during lunch to refill the pastry. They stayed for quite a while in the pantry and it was really nice to get to see them again. Kuok I came up later too. Suddenly seeing so many of them made me miss pastry a lot...

Kuok I was quite surprised to see me, cos the last time he saw me, I was in the banquet uniform. He said it was weird seeing me in so many types of uniform everytime. From the chef's uniform in pastry, to banquet, and now lobby lounge. He said maybe next time he'll see me in oscar's uniform, but I said I don't want, cos I don't like the yellow shirt. Haha... :)

After clearing the lunch buffet, Dewi gave me cake to eat! 3 slices of chocolate cake, and a yellow cake. I ate some, leaving 2 chocolate cakes cos I was quite full. I gave it to Aishu and Marz later. And I forgot to eat Caesar's salad again! Argh... Never mind, at least I got to eat cake.

Afternoon tea was not that busy. We just stood around like usual, not doing anything much. Then, I got called to wipe cutlery and fold the lunch napkins. I folded till about 5pm, then I decided to go. Aishu already went down for dinner. I said bye bye to the people there, but said I would be going up later cos me and Aishu bought them chocolates.

Aishu ate her dinner, and we met Sean in the canteen.

After dinner, I went up for a short while with Aishu to give them the chocolates. Then I left. I began to feel really sad about leaving.

I went to HR to return my locker key and name tag. (Last time I got to keep both when I went to pastry. I guess they forgot to collect it back cos I told Charlotte about it and she said they need the key so she asked me to return it. I want to keep the name tag though, so I didn't tell her about it. Hee...) Charlotte gave me a Conrad bear. I think it's so cute! I absolutely love it!

Then, I went to the pastry kitchen to say bye bye to them. There were only Ah Hau, Kuok I and Virginia there. There were also quite a lot of other people I didn't know. Saw Ah Ming on the way back too. I'll surely miss them a lot! When I left, it really felt like what I felt when I left them during December last year. Really really sad! I almost cried! Think I'm too emotional...

I said I'll come back during the December holidays! Hope I really will!

Career choices...

Just yesterday, I was sharing with my mother what I heard from one of the guy at lobby lounge about their salary in the hotel industry. It really isn't that high at all for newcomers.

I'm interested in this industry though. But I'm concerned about the pay.

Just had a little conversation with her about the topic and she had to make a big fuss over it. She talked to me while I was watching the soccer match at midnight yesterday, and just after I came home.

I know she's concerned, but leave it up to me! I know what I'm doing!

*too frustrated to blog about today. It was a wonderful day for me, I was so happy throughout the day, until I came home... :(

The fourth day

working at lobby lounge.

Lilian bought curry puffs for us to eat in the morning. She's so nice! :D After I finished eating, she told me to go down for lunch. It was only 10.30am then. Since I ate quite a lot of mee siam for breakfast, I was too full to eat anything.

Met Feng Sheng during lunch. Still remember how he tried to eat the crab with fork and spoon. In the end, he still had to use his hands but still couldn't eat it properly. Haha... So so funny! Also met one of his Oscar's friend. Think she's a very cute girl. :)

After the lunch buffet at the lobby lounge, there was some chocolate cake left and Dewi gave to me to eat! Loved it! :D I ate it before at Pastry, but it's still as good as ever!

Elaine has been nice to me the past few days. I guess she might have been in a bad mood the first day we met. So I take back what I said about her. She's quite nice actually.

Aishu was sick today, so she didn't come for work. I miss talking to her after work, during her dinner break in the locker room. Luckily, I went to eat dinner with Feng Sheng. If not I'll be totally bored. No one to talk to. We had roti prata at Suntec. I think the onion prata and curry is nice! :)

After that I went to buy chocolates for the lobby lounge people. Me and Aishu are going to give them tomorrow.

Can't wait to go to work tomorrow! It's my last day. I'm happy to finish the attachment. At the same time, I'll be sad to leave...

It's a good day :)

Started work at 9am today. Like yesterday, Dewi was the only one there.

I helped her set the tables and do the other usual stuff. Then, there was nothing to do and she brought me to the kitchen where she taught me lots of stuff. Like how to wash the plates, how to make cuppaccino and latte, and some general stuff. She's very nice! I love her! She always calls me darling. It was until later that I realised everyone calls everyone else darling too. Haha... It feels like one close family and Lilian is our mama. Ha... :)

She said to me "You know ar, you are my fastest trainee. I told Madam (she was referring to Lilian) that even those who come from Shatec are not confirm good workers". Although she didn't mention names, I knew that she was saying I was better than the others. Super an shuang! :D

During the day, she also said a few times "you only come one week ar? Why cannot stay longer?" She also asked Lilian that when I was around. Lilian said to ask me if I wanted to stay or not, since I'm not getting paid. Then Dewi said can hire me for casual labour for one more week, and give me pay. But I couldn't, cos I haven't studied for mid-years yet, and that's right after the holidays!

Compared to yesterday, today was a much enjoyable day. I don't like boring moments cos it makes the time pass so slowly. That's why I actually prefer lots of stuff to do. I think I'm a bit crazy. Haha... So I enjoyed today because there were only me and Dewi around and lots of work to go around. Lilian came at 10am. The others came much later.

I was also more comfortable with greeting guests and taking orders, so I guess it wasn't that stressful for me anymore. I didn't really like lobby lounge when I first came, but I'm beginning to enjoy it now. Can't believe that I only have 2 days left!

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes...

Today is my second day at Lobby Lounge, and it’s just plain weird. I made so many mistakes that I’m now immune to them.

First mistake: Dewi asked me to pass her a menu. I didn’t know what it was for, but I went to take it anyway. When I was walking towards her with the menu, a guest looked like he wanted to take the menu from me, so I thought she asked me to get it for him. I gave it to him, then walked away. After a while, the guest said “I wanted the bill”. Apparently, he had asked for the bill and thought I was going to give it to him. Super embarrassing cos Dewi also saw what happened.

Second: Ok. Nothing wrong happened here, same for number 3. Just that a super big accident could have happened if I were just a teeny weeny bit more unlucky. I was replacing a glass for water for a guest and I almost tipped it over. Probably like a repeat of what happened at Long John yesterday. Luckily it didn’t.

Third: I was getting the tea in the tea pot for 2 guests. There were 2 teapots. I put both, together with the strainer on the plate and went to the table. When I got there, I realised I didn’t know how to pour the tea since I needed 2 hands for it and one hand was holding the tray. Luckily, Viy came to my rescue. Then later, Terry, the manager told me that I should never carry teapots like that. Because...
---(1): Don’t take the teapot using the tray, if not you’ll have no hand to pour the tea.
---(2): Don’t take 2 teapots at a time. Cos I don’t have 5 hands…
---(3): Don’t stand the teapot in the unstable position on the tray. It could topple anytime. The teapots we use are called sleeping teapots. One position for brewing tea, one for draining the water, and also for show, since it balances only on one edge of the pot, and the third position for standing. I carried them in the draining position. When Terry demonstrated how unstable it was, I seriously got a shock. I would have died if I dropped the 2 pots of hot tea. And if I dropped them on the guest, I would have died a million times over. I’m so, so thankful nothing bad happened.

Forth mistake: I was getting the bill for a guest. He already paid using his credit card and I was supposed to let him sign and give him a copy of the receipt. But, I didn’t know he had to sign it! I just gave him his card and receipts. Then, he was quite shocked. “Don’t need to sign ar?” he asked me. Luckily Dewi came over just at the right time and put everything in place. Luckily that gentleman was very, very nice. He said something like “You must be new right? Don’t worry, everyone has their first time.” He was so, so nice about it, I was touched. I didn’t feel bad anymore. How nice it would be if everyone were so nice.

Fifth mistake: It was during the lunch buffet. The guests stood up to get a second round of food. And I said “thank you, have a nice day” cos I thought they were leaving. Super embarrassing! They just laughed it off.

Almost every time I finish my attachment, I feel very thankful and appreciative that there are nice people in this world. Like the guy I mentioned above. There was also this nice guy that took his own salad cos he loves lots of cheese (according to Lilian). He was very friendly. His friend too. I was preparing ceasar salad for his friend, who watched me prepare it. I told him that I’ll bring it to him later, but he said “it’s ok, I’ll watch. Don’t feel pressured by me. You’re doing great.” I think he could tell I was a rookie. But anyways, what he said made me feel good.

It’s nice to see such people. Sometimes, guests will just ignore you or not bother to say thank you and I feel really irritated. I know they paid for the service. 10% in fact. But it’s common courtest. Can’t you even say thank you? I always say thank you to people serving me when I go restaurants…

But this being my second day, I was also a bit more experienced. Dewi taught me lots of things in the morning when we were free. Like about the tea, the buffet stuff etc. Lilian taught me how to make Caesar salad yesterday, and today she put me in charge of it again. She called me the Caesar girl. Haha…

Ah Ming came to lobby lounge today. And he asked me if the pastry were arranged nicely. I said yes. Haha… He always has that blur look on his face. I think he’s a very nice guy.

I met 3 new people today. Elaine and Viy and Terry.

Elaine is a trainee too. She came here with Rui Juan from Oscar’s. Their second week here. Somehow, I don’t like her. She doesn’t talk nice to me, although I was nice to her in the beginning. She and Rui Juan are rather close. Rui Juan is fine, she still smiles and talks to me sometimes, although I still feel I can’t really connect with her. Elaine on the other hand, is very rude. She talks to me like I don’t know anything. Which is true, since she’s been here one week more than me. So can’t she forgive me for not knowing stuff? B*TCH! I seldom hate people so she must be really obnoxious for me to dislike her like that.

Viy (pronounced as the letter V) is a female manager. Her uniform is something like Lilian’s. Gold and black, but a little different in design. Only saw her for 2 hours since she started work quite late today.

Terry, the other manager. He’s nice too, but he doesn’t talk to me much. Except the time when he told me how dangerous it was to carry the teapots. He said he was frightened for me too.

I ended work at 5.06pm today. Aishu had already gone down for dinner – she’s working the later shift. I went to the changing room and you’ll never believe what I saw. There was a woman changing. We all change in the locker room, so it’s not surprising to see her change.

BUT… she was quite fat, and she was wearing a g-string! Gross!~ I tried not to look cos it’ll be weird. Then when she turned around, I realised she was Jasmine!!! Ahh… I didn’t say hi to her or anything, cos it was very awkward. I pretended like I didn’t see her and continued to do my stuff. She was talking to a friend anyway. After putting on a t-shirt and a pair of short shorts, she left. I seriously cannot imagine Jasmine in t-shirt and shorts, much less in her underwear. Oh my gosh…

Aishu came into the locker room very soon after she finished her dinner. I kept her company till the end of the break, taking about lots of stuff, especially all the weird stuff that happened today.

Quite nice talking to her, considering that I’ve never actually laughed heartily or had a nice conversation with anyone at lobby lounge the whole day. Maybe it’s because of the nature of lobby lounge. If we had nothing to do, we would stand outside, to see if the guests needed anything. Then, it would be weird to all crowd together to talk. If we were in the kitchen, we would most probably be busy and we couldn’t stay in there long enough to have a proper conversation anyway. Haiz…

I miss the times we had a banquet so much. It was the stuff we did that was more fun, and also the people there were friendlier. Not forgetting the bunch of us who went for the attachment together and always crowded around to talk. I miss that!

Lobby Lounge

Today was a very hectic morning.

Woke up at 5am and got ready to go to Conrad cos my shift starts at 7am and I don't want to be late on my first day at lobby lounge. Supposed to meet Feng Sheng at 6.40am to eat breakfast at the canteen.

In the end, I boarded the first 69 bus from Tampines to Bedok, but still ended up late. I spent too much time on my uniform I think, first time wearing it after all, so was a bit blur. So I didn't manage to eat breakfast.

When I was changing, I think I looked quite confused. Then I realised that there were other people in the same uniform as me nearby. Oh no... Paiseh in front of my colleagues that I don't even know yet.

When I went out of the changing room, I realised I didn't know how to get to the lobby lounge. There was this lady in a black dress and a gold jacket. I love her uniform! She looks nice and there wasn't anyone else around, so I asked her for directions.

She told me which lift to take, then she said "where's your name tag?".

I thanked her for reminding me, then quickly rushed back to get it. I think I was really in a mad rush. It was already past 7am then.

When I got up to the lobby lounge, the manager wasn't there yet, and the other people told me to wait. One of them told me that the uniform had a belt and I went down to housekeeping to get it, but the auntie said no more belts! So I didn't have one the whole day.

Finally, the lift door opened (the lift opens directly at the lobby lounge kitchen) and the women in the gold jacket came out. I soon realised that she was the manager! I seriously got a shock! I didn't just embarrass myself in front of the other people, but in front of the manager too! I felt I was going to die! How was I going to survive the week?

The manager's name is Lilian and the others call her Madam. It's quite different from the other sections in Conrad where we call each other by name. I felt quite comfortable calling Jasmine (from banquet) and Ah Ming (from pastry) by their names too, even though they were holding higher posts.

But since everyone calls Lilian Madam, how could I call her by name? I don't like calling her madam, so everytime I talk to her, I don't call her anything. Haha...

Anyway, Lilian looked very strict. When she came up, she started scrutinizing everything. The tongs and spoons must all be in perfect position. She even asked one of the girls to arrange the chairs when the arrangement was already in the right position. I think she's a perfectionist.

I got introduced to the others. There was Mas, Rui Juan and Devi. Rui Juan is a trainee from Shatec. Her second week here.

I didn't have anything to do in the beginning, just stood around and watched them. There weren't many people eating then.

The sad thing about this attachment is that me and Aishu are the only ones on attachment and we're working different shifts. So I had no one to be blur with. Haha...

Breakfast is from 7am to 10.30am. Soon, the guests started streaming in and I learned bit by bit from watching how the others showed the guests to their seats. Lilian put me in charge of the coffee and tea. Quite a simple job, except that the 2 jugs could get quite heavy when full and my hands were kinda shaking when I carried the heavy jugs and poured from them.

The main things to do at lobby lounge are to show guests to empty seats, serve drinks and clear dirty plates. It was a buffet after all, so there was no need to take orders. I think Mas is very cute. Haha... She just seems so bubbly and friendly.

Devi on the other hand, was very cool and calm. Very professional. Rui Juan was also a bit unsure about some stuff. And Lilian, of course, seemed the most professional.

Breakfast seemed like forever because I had to stand throughout, there was no time to sit at all. And I was super hungry. The food made it even worse...

I still remember that there was one moment that was super embarrassing for me. I wanted to clear a guest's bowl, because I saw some stuff inside that didn't look like food. I thought he finished eating and since he wasn't eating anymore, I tried to take the bowl away.

Then he said "I'm still eating." Oh my gosh, I think I could have fainted on the spot. It was so, so embarrassing. Luckily that guest was very nice, so I just smiled at him and said sorry. I think he was eating muesli. Cos the weird thing in his bowl just looked weird. Luckily he was a nice guy. :)

Breakfast went on till 10.30am. By then, I could already feel my legs aching. We cleared the breakfast setting and set the cutlery for lunch. I went for lunch at 12.15pm with Rui Juan. We talked a little, but not a lot. Don't know why, I just didn't know what to say to her, although she looks like a nice girl. Maybe I was too engrossed in my food.

I went up at 1pm and lunch was half way through. Lunch is from 12 noon to 3pm. Not a lot of people came for lunch. I think the busiest time at lobby lounge is breakfast.

Soon, we changed the settings to prepare for afternoon tea. And I learned how to make tea, cuppachino (whatever... I don't know how to spell. Haha...). It's actually very easy. Just press a few buttons on the coffee machine and add the milk foam. It takes quite a bit of time to do, but other than that, it was easy. And they actually charge $10 for a small cup. Daylight robbery! Can't believe people still order it.

A lot of people who came to lobby lounge came to discuss business. They could just order some drinks and sit there for a long, long time. Good for us though, nothing much to do. :)

Lilian sent me up to second level at banquet to borrow high-lows (some plastic ring thingy). I saw Jasmine and surprisingly, she was very, very nice! Maybe she secretly misses us but too shy to say. Haha... :)

I left at 3.20pm today. Feng Sheng was waiting for me outside the changing room. Felt a bit bad to make him wait so much for me today. We were going out with Dawn, Xin Yi, Seet Teng and supposedly Lionel (from banquet). But Lionel suddenly decided not to go.

The 5 of us walked around marina square and suntec, trying to find Long John Silver, but it took quite a while before we finally found it. By then, Dawn had to leave and ther 4 of us decided to eat there.

After I bought my meal, the craziest thing happened. I kinda slipped and spilled my ice lemon tea all over the floor. I didn't fall down (thank god!) but the jerk made the cup tip over and the drink just spilled.

We had to move table cos I spilled on one of the chairs too. It was seriously embarrassing! One of the staff came over to clean up the wet floor and I said sorry to her. But I could still tell that she was very unhappy from the look on her face. Made me feel really, really bad.

I think it was because we were all joking about it that she felt we were playing a fool, so she was not happy. But I really didn't mean it! It's not as if I purposely spilled it to make fun of her or anything! Sorry sorry sorry! :(

Soon, the mess was cleared up and she put a "wet floor" sign so people would avoid walking over it. It was better then, but I still felt bad.

Overall, it was fun eating with the 3 of them. No doubt it would have been a lot, a lot better if I hadn't spilled the drink.

After eating, we walked around for a little while before me and Feng Sheng went back. Xin Yi and Seet Teng were still walking around, probably going to watch a movie or something.

On the way back, there were no seats on the MRT so I was leaning against one of the panals. And I can't believe that I actually fell asleep standing. Must have looked very unglam then. But I can't be bothered. I was too tired.

On the bus from Bedok, I also slept. Luckily I didn't miss my stop.

I think I need to sleep earlier today. Super tired!

If not I'll be blur tomorrow at work. Really don't want that incident to repeat itself while working!

Obsessed...

I've been thinking about it all the time.

Started since wednesday I think.

It keeps going through my mind. Like every minute, every second. Even when I sleep, I feel like I'm also thinking about it.

I think about it all the time when I'm at Conrad, even now during the weekends.

I'm supposed to be studying right now, but I can't cos my mind is occupied.

I can spend 10 minutes staring at a page, and not absorbing what I just read.

I should try to forget it, but I don't want to.

...

Just had to blog it to get it out of my mind temporarily.

Better get back to studying!...

I'm so happy!

I've been really happy this whole week.

I think it was the attachment at conrad and the wonderful outing I had with my family yesterday. I've been blogging for more than 2 hours now (yup, the previuous 2 posts are backtracked. I just wrote them. Haha...), and I think I better get back to studying.

Only finished a little of electrochem this morning. I'm seriously behind schedule. Don't know if I can finish studying or not cos I haven't been studying on the days I go to Conrad. Hmm... Haha... :)

I'm looking forward to my first day at lobby lounge tomorrow!

Shopping

Today was a fabulous day!

Woke up later cos don't have to work. Although I miss going to conrad, it's nice to have a break over the weekend.

Went out with my family today. I'm so beginning to love Saturday family days, also beginning to appreciate spending time with them, and I love it!

We had late lunch at Suntec pasta mania at almost 3pm. I just ate at the same place on thursday. This time I had the hawaiian pizza. It was great! Also very fun sharing food. Next time I want to eat baked rice. It's so nice!

Then we went window shopping. First, we went to royal sporting house. The window display was all set up for the world cup. There was a giant score board too. It's really very very nice!

We also went to the Adidas and Nike shops on the same level. The adidas clothes are super nice! There was this green jacket that was red inside, and the green outer layer was a little see-through, so you could see the red colour. Haiz... I don't know how to describe it. It was just so so nice! :D

I just love the Adidas clothes. They were all so pretty. I've seriously never seen something that I liked so much before!

I'm also currently looking for a new bag. Not that I'm in need of one, I just feel like getting a new one. Maybe it makes window shopping more fun when I'm looking out for something. Haha... But I probably won't buy it until much, much later cos the bags I like are so expensive! Need to save up first.

There's a blue bag that I've been eyeing for a long time. It's $45, but now, even with the 15% discount, it's still too expensive for me to afford. Haiz... I shall save slowly first. Who knows, there may be better designs next time.

We looked at loads more shops, but didn't buy much. I think the fun of shopping is just walking around and seeing pretty things. It's ok not to buy anything. :)

After that, we went to play golf at the new country club. I didn't play much, but I had fun taking photos with my handphone with my Mum. :)

Then, we went to walk walk near the indoor stadium. The scenery there was lovely!

After having dinner at Bedok, we went back.

And I watched a little of the England soccer match, I forgot who was it against.

At 12 midnight was the Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago match. I was planning to fall asleep on the sofa while watching. But in the end, I watched the entire match because it was so exciting! Both teams were so good that they ended up in a 0-0 draw. I was rooting for Trinidad & Tobago. I also don't know why. Haha... Their goalkeeper was superb!

It was also the first match that my Mum finished watching. She never used to watch football. It was indeed a spectacular game.

After that I went to sleep. I'll wake up early to study tomorrow! I'm so behind schedule now.

The last day at banquet

I had breakfast in the canteen today. After a while, Aishu came. So did the others.

The 3 girls- Dawn, Seet Teng and Xin Yi - gave all of us a "pez" sweet. Mine is the daffy duck dispenser. So sweet of them! I didn't expect it so I didn't buy anything for them. Felt a little awkward. Haha...

All of us also signed the birthday card for Feng Sheng before giving it to him. We gave him a pack of hersey's kisses cos yesterday when we were at Carrefour, he said he wanted his first kiss for his birthday present so we all gave him kisses. Haha!!! :)

The first thing we did when we went up to the office was to give the people there the Ferrero Rocher. It was supposed to thank them for teaching us and stuff. But when I think about it later, actually it's kinda weird. Cos last time when I went to pastry, me and Zhang Lan didn't give them anything. Instead, a few of them gave us a present. I still have the music box with me. Love it so much! Of course, I printed the photos for them when we went back, that costs me a bomb man! But It thought it was worth it.

After giving them the chocolates, Jasmine brought us to the ballroom where she taught us to fold the napkins into candles. We needed to fold about 400 of them! She said we would probably take the whole day to finish folding...

It was fun at first, but it soon got boring. Sometimes the candle was too fat to put into the ring, then you'll have to fold it again. Or else it would be too tall or short, or just not nice enough. After finishing about half, we went down for lunch.

Lunch was nice. I can't remember exactly what we had, but it was nice.

After lunch, Jasmine asked me and Aishu to keep all the small chocolate boxes which the guys had placed on the tables earlier. Apparently, she had made a mistake. But the good thing was, we got to go down to pastry. I was so happy. Haha!

Kuok I was the one in charge of the chocolates and we helped him to count them. There was one box extra and he gave us to eat. There were 2 chocolate hearts inside. I had the brown one while Aishu ate the white one. It was so, so, so nice! Chocolate always makes me high, so I was laughing for no reason at all on the way back to the ballroom. So funny! :D

At the ballroom, we went back to fold napkins. But after a while, we ran out of napkins and there weren't any at housekeeping, so we could finally take a break from the folding. We helped out in the back lane, filling the soy sauce and chilli plates.

Then, there wasn't much to do. So we too photos with one another, also with Lu Lu and Buddhi. It was very fun! :) We also exchanged email addresses. Then, Lu Lu found out that the chocolates we gave her went missing, only the yellow ribbon was left. Wonder who was so mean to steal it. Think she was quite sad about that...

Later, me and Aishu were asked to place the wedding gifts on the table. It was a cocktail stirrer. Very nice! This couple must be very rich! They have 35 tables, which is a lot compared to the others. Their napkins also not the usual fan shape, and their wedding gift is super nice!

By the time we finished, it was almost 5, and we were dismissed. All 7 of us went down to the cafeteria to take a group photo. We also saw Charlotte from HR. She told me that I'll be working the 7am to 3pm shift next week at the lobby lounge. It's super early! Don't know if my Dad can drive me or not. Luckily Feng Sheng also working the same shift at Oscar's so hopefully can meet each other. And too bad Aishu is working the later shift so we won't be seeing much of each other. Then I'll be the only one on attachment at lobby lounge. I'm afraid I'll have to eat alone during lunch if I don't know anyone else well enough. I don't want...!

After changing out of the banquet uniform for the last time (seems so sad. Haha...) we went to the lobby to take group photo. Then, I took bus 36 to east coast with Feng Sheng. We missed the first bus cos there were too many people, couldn't squeeze in. So we went to Starbucks to get a drink. Mine was ... I can't remember what. Got some raspberry thingy and it was orange in colour. Haha... I seldom go Starbucks so I just ordered what the guy recommended. Quite nice.

Feng Sheng said I had a typical and unique look. I shall take that as a compliment! Ha!!! :D

When we boarded the bus, we brought our drinks along too. We stood beside a guy who was sitting and reading some "magazine". Feng Sheng's cup was almost directly above his magazine and he had to be careful not to let the water droplets drop onto that guy's book. It was super funny!!! We kept laughing and I think the guy knows what we were laughing about too. Hahaha!! :D

I reached east coast at about 6 plus. The Biz farewell barbeque was supposed to start at 5pm. And Kimberly was supposed to go too, but at the last minute, she decided not to, cos it had been raining the whole day.

While walking to the bbq pit, I was thinking about lots of stuff. Like the time me and Zhang Lan left the pastry kitchen, I was super, super sad. I even cried a few days before the last day when I thought that I was leaving soon. But Zhang Lan didn't even look sad at all! This time, although it's our last day at banquet, I wasn't that sad cos I'll still be in conrad for another week. I'll miss working at banquet though. It was fun. I'll probably be super sad when the attachment ends next week. Of course, it also depends on how the people at lobby lounge treat me. Haha...

Anyways, back to the barbeque...

Luckily it didn't take long for me to find the pit. It was very near the VJ overhead bridge. I was actually preparing to go there to get lost, then call someone to give directions.

When I got there, the only seniors who came were Sinhui, Sally and me. Only 3! There were lots of juniors though, but I don't know almost all of them. Quite sad... Jacqueline came at about 7pm. And the 4 of us took photos. The food was quite nice, although the satay took a super long time to cook. I suspect it was still a little raw when I ate it. Haha... Gross!

Me and Jacqueline left at 8pm because we wanted to watch the last episode of zhi zun hong yan. Tv addicts! Haha... We took a group photo before we left. I think we left really early, but there was nothing much to do since both of us didn't know the juniors.

It's sad when people in a cca don't know each other. That's why I love horti. We rock! Haha...

I reached home in time to watch the show.

I also watched the opening match of the world cup. Germany vs Costa Rica. But I fell asleep in between. Haha... Too tired.

Reading too much into it

CHARLYNN!!!

Stop day dreaming!

Always thinking of such crazy things!

You're over sensitive!

He's nice to everyone!

Slack day

Everything we did today can be summarised in 2 words: wiping glasses.

We were in salon V the whole day, except when we had to go to stewarding to wash the glasses or to housekeeping for the napkins.

It was actually more fun than yesterday's cos we talked a lot more and Lu Lu gave us food to eat too! Yummy! Haha... :D

We also used the excuses of going to stewarding or housekeeping to take a break. Especially when we go to the basement, we would go drink something in the canteen.

We did that loads of times today.

In particular, there was once when Feng Sheng and I went to get napkins (and also drink water), then immediately after we went back to salon V, he said he wanted to go to the toilet, so we went down again. Think the people in the kitchen must have been quite irritated seeing the 2 of us walk to and fro so, so many times! Haha... It was fun! :D

Charlotte also told me and Aishu that we'll be posted to lobby lounge next week. We tried the uniforms. This time it's a long black skirt and a white shirt. I don't like white shirts cos if you stare long enough, it's kinda see through and can see what colour you wearing inside. Haha... :)

But it also means that we'll be separated from the others soon. Tomorrow will be our last day together. :( The RGS girls will be leaving cos this is the second week of their attachment already. Feng Sheng and Sean will be posted to Oscar's. Will surely miss them. Actually I want to go Oscar's too cos it seems more lively. The lobby lounge like so boring, the lights so dim... It's like such a a lifeless place!

Maybe it won't be that bad. I don't know... Hopefully the people are nice!

After work today, the 6 of us went for dinner (Seet didn't go) at Suntec Pasta Mania. I shared the buddy meal with Xin Yi and I had creamy chicken spaghetti. The sauce was really thick and creamy. It was so filling that I only managed to finish half. There was also banana pizza desert. Quite weird at first, but it's really nice! I only ate half of my share though. Really couldn't eat anymore. Don't know why, I just felt really bloated.

Then, we went to Carrefour to buy Ferrero Rocher for the banquet people, since it's our last day there tomorrow. After that, we went back. I tried to come back in time to watch "lu guang sen lin" but it was already over. Luckily I got to watch the Singapore Idol results. Rahimah and Jasmine (aiyoh, another Jasmine!) are in the next round.

I supported Jasmine and Geraldine so I was happy that one of them got in. Rahimah's not bad too, though I'm not exactly a big fan of hers. Gayle is good too, and I was quite surprised that she didn't get in. Maybe it's cos there are only 2 spots. I think Geraldine and Gayle have good chances of getting in during the come back round.

Overall, I was quite in a good mood today. Thought going down to the basement with Feng Sheng so many times was funny. :) However, I just had some low moments. Don't know why. Mood swing la... Haha...

Tomorrow's our last day. Hope we'll have fun! I don't want us to be separated!

Day 3

Me, Aishu and Dawn started the day by setting sets of plates, cups, cutlery etc on large oval plates. And oh my gosh, these plates are super dirty! The napkin went from white to black when we wiped it!

I used to think that hotels have the highest standards of cleanlinest. It's so not true! It's just an illusion. Now, I think their standard is the same as that of hawker centres', just that they do the "cleaning" behind the scenes so you don't know... Haha... I'm never gonna feel comfortable using hotel cutlery anymore!

Then, Jasmine called me to stand at the stairs to direct people to the south ballroom. It was quite boring because there were quite few people. I stood there for 40 minutes and it felt like forever. What made it worse was that some people don't even respond when you greet them. So irritating! Hmmph!

Then, I went back to the back alley to continue setting the cutlery with Aishu and Dawn.

We took quite long for that, so it was already lunch time.

After lunch, the 3 of us went to wipe wine glasses. Jovin said that they'll be used by President Narthan and his wife, and the Japan Emperor on friday. And... guess what? They decided to let us trainees do the job! Highest standard of quality indeed...

It was quite boring and tiring. And we kept getting cross-eyed staring at the glasses for those almost non-existent stains. After a while, luckily I got called to pour coffee cos I was seriously feeling frustrated wiping the glasses.

It was that Indian guy that I met yesterday who taught me how to use the coffee machine. I still can't remember his name, so let's call him M for now... I was supposed to just stand next to the table, then when guests come out of the grand salon for tea-break, I would press the button on the machine to make the coffee for them. Or tea if they wanted. A simple job.

The coffee takes quite a while to come out of the machine. It's freshly ground after all, so you need to wait. So I asked M, "Do we look at the guest while we wait for the coffee? Or we look at the coffee?"

It was quite a stupid question, but I thought it made sense. It was really awkward while waiting for the coffee. Cos if you look at the guest, then it would be weird cos I look at him, then look at me, then we have nothing to say. So awkward. If I look at the coffee, then I look stupid right?

We ended up laughing a lot cos it was really funny. He wanted to pretend to be the guest and I was to serve him coffee. But I was laughing so hard that I just couldn't complete my sentence. Luckily, when the real thing came, I managed to keep my laughter inside. Haha... :)

Serving coffee is nicer compared to wiping glasses. The wiping isn't that difficult, but somehow, I really don't like it...

I helped to clear the used cups from the grand salon and replace the glasses. They call it refreshing the salon. Haha... I like the way that sounds. :)

That was the end of the day, not a lot of difficult stuff to do today. I was actually not enjoying the first part of the day, but laughing so hard when learning to make coffee and the music from my MP3 on the way home really cheered me up. I bought a nice pair of earrings too!

Plus, there are so many nice shows to watch tonight. I absolutely love the 7pm Channel U show "lu guang shen lin". Just now I watched Singapore Idol and "Zhi Zun Hong Yan" too. Now, I'm going to watch project runway. Woohoo! :D

My only concern is that I haven't been following my study timetable... I'm so behind schedule!

Names

I searched my name on Yahoo! to see if my blog would come out. It didn't. Actually I'm quite happy about that cos I don't want too many people reading. My blog is like my personal space, where I can write anything I want, without any restrain. So if you're reading and I don't know that you are, actually I would prefer not to find out. Haha... I don't know...

Yup, so instead of my blogger profile coming up first when I searched "Charlynn Low" like the last time, I found this: http://www.daystogo.com/baby-names/

It's a website where you can find out the meaning of your name. Go try! Don't think it works for everyone though. Only English names I guess. Haha...

Have fun!

Friends

It's the second day and I feel the 7 of us on attachment are much closer today.

At least we talked more, especially to the guys. Yesterday I left really early so like I didn't get to actually talk to them at all.

I think the guys are super crappy! Ha... Crappy guys always make me laugh. :D Our first task today was to wipe spoons at the ballroom. And guess what? They wanted to do it on the floor. We ended up putting napkins on the floor to put the clean spoons on. When the manager came in, he was quite shocked to see us all on the floor (actually can't blame us also, cos there were no free tables mah...).

One of the guys was folding the napkin on the floor. I think the manager almost went mad. It's just so crazy la! I wouldn't ever think of doing that! But I don't deny that it was fun. Haha... And since all of us doing together, then never mind lo...

After we finished, the manager came in again. And seeing all the spoons on the floor (on the napkin of course!), he said "Aiyah, put the spoons on the table". I can still remember his expression. Super funny! Haha!!! :D

After that, we went to salon by the pool on the 4th floor, which is beside the pool (duh!!) to set tables. It was quite fun actually. I like that place. It's really nice. :)

I also helped to fill the ice water goblet. Cool name right? Harry Potter has his goblet of fire, and mine is the goblet of ice water. Water puts out fire, so I win! Ha... So crappy! It was actually only glasses of water, but the glasses are green in colour. Very nice!

I think we went for lunch after that. Me, Dawn, Feng Sheng and Sean. It was very fun to eat together. Sean ate so much! How come he doesn't get fat? Not fair! We also went to use the computers and I found out Feng Sheng's blog add: www.thecelestialzoner-.blogspot.com. I read a bit just now. Don't tell him yet. Maybe another day. Hahaa...

After lunch, me and Dawn went back to the fourth floor. Aishu joined us after her lunch.

I was supposed to open the door for the guests. That was ok... Quite tiring standing there waiting for the guests to come. But once they started streaming in, it was less boring. Also got to know a few people working there too, although I still don't know their names.

There's this Indian guy who opened doors with me too. Then he accidentally hit a guest when he opened the door. That was when he decided to stand at the side to direct them to their seats instead. It was quite funny and I kept laughing. :D

We also served the guests. It was just some simple stuff like pouring water, coffee or tea and clearing the plates. It really sounds easy, but when I first started, I was quite nervous cos I had never done this before. Aishu was really quite calm. She looks professional!

The manager that was in charge of us most of the time was Jasmine. It's weird cos Jamine Teo from my class, her name is Jasmine too. So I wasn't quite used to it. Jasmine, the manager, was quite strict.

After we finished our work at the salon, all 3 of us were supposed to put something in the kitchen and that Indian guy gave us some desert. It was super nice! Reminds me of the times I was attached to the pastry kitchen.

Jasmine was kinda in a rush. When we went back, she was asking "Ask you all go kitchen to put something, why take so long?" We just smiled and didn't tell her anything. She was like some monster that we were trying to hide from. I was trying hard not to smile too happily (cos I thought it was funny we were trying to keep it from her) in case I gave us away. Then we would be in serious trouble.

Next, we went down to help at the ballroom. Howard and Emily were getting married that evening. (Who?) Haha... :) We prepared the little saucers of soy sauce and chilli. When I went to restaurants, it never occured to me that there was someone preparing all these nitty gritty stuff. It's just weird...

The 3 of us also went down to the pastry kitchen with another guy to collect the chocolates for the wedding gift. I saw chef Rosli, chef Garnesh, Ah Hau, Virginia, Ah Ming and caught a glimpse of Kuok I.

Chef Rosli was his usual crappy self. He's just so funny! Love his craziness, it always makes me laugh! :D Ah Ming saw me too, but somehow, I feel like he doesn't quite rememeber me. Maybe he was busy at that time... I still think he has problem remembering my name cos he's more of a chinese guy, not very good with english names.

I saw Kuok I too. Actually just a small glipse. I didn't go all the way inside the kitchen, only went in up to the baker's table, so I didn't see those who were working inside, including Kuok I. I think he's really cute. Don't think I mentioned that before in my previous posts when I went for the last attachment. Haha... So now you know. I think I'm mad! Always get hua1 chi1 so easily.

We only stayed for a little while at the kitchen before going back up to arrange the chocolates on the tables. I want to go visit them again!

After slacking around for a while, all 7 of us ended up together folding the menus and napkins for the evening's dinner. It was fun to just sit down, after standing for the whole day, and just crap.

We left at 5 plus. Then, I went to have dinner with my family at CHIJMES. We went to Lei's garden (it's a restaurant, not a garden!). Our total bill came up to about $140 so the food was definitely good! We had some appetisers, fish soup, king prawn, vegetables, noodles and some desert soup that tastes like chng tng (very very nice!!!)

The prawn was so giant, never seen anything like it. It's about the size of my fist, plus a little bit. Overall, the dinner was great. Loved it! :)

The service there was not bad too. It's only after these 2 days of attachment that I appreciate how much work they do just to serve the customers. Makes me enjoy being served even more!

We went home after that. To watch zhi zhun hong yan. I totally love that show!

It's already 11 now, and I think I better go sleep. I'm really really looking forward to tomorrow!!!
