I love coffee! Especially when it's ice cold and with milk!

Day 3

Me, Aishu and Dawn started the day by setting sets of plates, cups, cutlery etc on large oval plates. And oh my gosh, these plates are super dirty! The napkin went from white to black when we wiped it!

I used to think that hotels have the highest standards of cleanlinest. It's so not true! It's just an illusion. Now, I think their standard is the same as that of hawker centres', just that they do the "cleaning" behind the scenes so you don't know... Haha... I'm never gonna feel comfortable using hotel cutlery anymore!

Then, Jasmine called me to stand at the stairs to direct people to the south ballroom. It was quite boring because there were quite few people. I stood there for 40 minutes and it felt like forever. What made it worse was that some people don't even respond when you greet them. So irritating! Hmmph!

Then, I went back to the back alley to continue setting the cutlery with Aishu and Dawn.

We took quite long for that, so it was already lunch time.

After lunch, the 3 of us went to wipe wine glasses. Jovin said that they'll be used by President Narthan and his wife, and the Japan Emperor on friday. And... guess what? They decided to let us trainees do the job! Highest standard of quality indeed...

It was quite boring and tiring. And we kept getting cross-eyed staring at the glasses for those almost non-existent stains. After a while, luckily I got called to pour coffee cos I was seriously feeling frustrated wiping the glasses.

It was that Indian guy that I met yesterday who taught me how to use the coffee machine. I still can't remember his name, so let's call him M for now... I was supposed to just stand next to the table, then when guests come out of the grand salon for tea-break, I would press the button on the machine to make the coffee for them. Or tea if they wanted. A simple job.

The coffee takes quite a while to come out of the machine. It's freshly ground after all, so you need to wait. So I asked M, "Do we look at the guest while we wait for the coffee? Or we look at the coffee?"

It was quite a stupid question, but I thought it made sense. It was really awkward while waiting for the coffee. Cos if you look at the guest, then it would be weird cos I look at him, then look at me, then we have nothing to say. So awkward. If I look at the coffee, then I look stupid right?

We ended up laughing a lot cos it was really funny. He wanted to pretend to be the guest and I was to serve him coffee. But I was laughing so hard that I just couldn't complete my sentence. Luckily, when the real thing came, I managed to keep my laughter inside. Haha... :)

Serving coffee is nicer compared to wiping glasses. The wiping isn't that difficult, but somehow, I really don't like it...

I helped to clear the used cups from the grand salon and replace the glasses. They call it refreshing the salon. Haha... I like the way that sounds. :)

That was the end of the day, not a lot of difficult stuff to do today. I was actually not enjoying the first part of the day, but laughing so hard when learning to make coffee and the music from my MP3 on the way home really cheered me up. I bought a nice pair of earrings too!

Plus, there are so many nice shows to watch tonight. I absolutely love the 7pm Channel U show "lu guang shen lin". Just now I watched Singapore Idol and "Zhi Zun Hong Yan" too. Now, I'm going to watch project runway. Woohoo! :D

My only concern is that I haven't been following my study timetable... I'm so behind schedule!
