Farewell assembly

The farewell assembly today was damn interesting, funny and of course, super emotional.

Since the theme of this year's year 1 orientation was superheros, our emcees for today were batman and yellow ranger. They were so silly and funny la!

There were performances by house comm, the teachers (I thought the belly dancing part was fantastic!) and some tribute to Mrs Chan. The last part when we sang the Victorian anthem was the most touching . Probably our last time too. Then we had mass dance which we almost forgot all the steps!

By the way, Mrs Chan would be leaving VJ too. She's being posted to MOE. I can tell that she managed the school well, though I don't really like her that much personally. She can be quite straightforward in her comments and I can tell that she is interested only in people who are of use to her. Like when I went with Mrs Chuah and Ryan to meet her about landscaping the school area, she only talked to Ryan. And I could sense that the whole conversation was full of hypocrisy. Like the "oh-how-I-like-you-so-much-but-actually-i-don't" kind of presence. From the both of them. Super fake la!

Oh well, but I must admit that she was a good principal. I'm afraid that the new principal won't tolerate the craziness in VJ, and give us our frequent full days. Then, the VJ spirit could really be changed. Anyway, the year 2s are leaving too, so it doesn't really affect me.

After farewell assembly, we had CT session to get our top 3 achievements and testimonial drafts. We all had free ice cream and chocolates sponsored! Haha... So nice! As our farewell gift from the juniors, all the year 2s got a nice ring as a souvenir. It has VJC engraved on the outside and nil sine laboure on the inside. Damn cool!

At the end of CT session, Timothy said "class stand" and we said "thank you Mrs Leong". She smirked. We don't respect Mrs Leong because we feel that she isn't a good teacher and is also an irresponsible CT. I don't think she's that bad, or dislike her as much as the others claim to though.

Later, we had Chemistry make up lesson. Because Mr Lim is on reservis, we have a relief teacher, Mr Chan. We were all so worried initially because our relief teacher last year was terrible. We were afraid our grades would be afftected since A's were coming soon. But luckily for us, Mr Chan is equally good, if not better than Mr Lim.

The weird thing about Mr Chan is that he likes to wear shirts with very loud prints, and his shirt is always buttoned one button too low. Haha... Quite weird, but I've got to say that some of his clothes actually look nice despite them being too attention grabbing. Tell you a secret, new guy teachers always make me more interested in the subject. Haha... Shhh... Don't tell anyone.

After that, we all went to see Li Yue, Joanne and Hao Quan's art pieces before going for class lunch at Seoul Garden at Taka. I think this is the most successful class outing ever. 20 people out of 25 turned up. Yay!

The food was ok. My table had Li Yue, Sheryl and Zhang Lan, and Jasmine and Joanne in the next table. We took loads of photos, and the guys made silly gay poses too. GAY!!!

Sheryl ate so, so much, despite her small size. I think she ate even more than Wei Yang! And she was playing with the food, cooking the beef in such a funny way.

My favourite was the chocolate ice cream. Yum yum!

We ate from 2pm to 5pm, and I was bloated by that time. Most of the guys went to watch movie while me, Jasmine, Sheryl, Li Yue and Zhang Lan went shopping. We also went to Cineleisure to take neoprint!

On our way to the MRT station, a lady came up to us to ask for donations. Since it was only $2, I decided to donate. But, just as I was taking out the money, I dropped a 10 cent coin and it rolled onto the road. I said never mind, but the lasy went ahead to pick it up! The road was super busy and the coin was at the edge of the road. All of us got such a big shock because she could have been run down by a car had she been 10cm further out into the road! It was so scary!

The MRT was super crowded, we squeezed our way in and it was a very stuffy and uncomfortable ride.

Oh well, this marks the official last day of school. It's been a great day, so much fun in school and with friends. I wish JC life wouldn't have to end. But it's time to start mugging for the A's... Jiayou!!! :)
